Stray is an adventure game that places players in the paws of a stray cat navigating a fascinating, post-apocalyptic cybercity. The game’s world, heavily influenced by the layered density of Kowloon Walled City, is populated by expressive robots who have built a society after the mysterious disappearance of humans. The narrative begins with the cat’s accidental fall into this enclosed world, separated from its family. The cat soon befriends a drone named B-12, who aids in translation, interaction, and puzzle-solving, acting as a vital companion in the journey to reach the outside. Chapter 6, "The Slums - Part 2," sees the cat return to a familiar locale, the Slums, with a new mission. Starting in Momo's empty apartment, a note directs the cat to the Dufer Bar to find him. There, the cat witnesses Momo attempting to contact Zbaltazar and encounters Seamus, Doc's son, who is struggling with the presumed loss of his father. Learning that Doc, an Outsider, disappeared while testing an anti-Zurk weapon, the cat is tasked with helping Seamus find him. This involves entering Seamus's apartment, finding a hidden lab entrance by interpreting clues from clocks (2511), and locating Doc's broken tracker. Repairing the tracker becomes the next objective. This involves a multi-step process: finding Elliot the programmer, who is too cold to work, obtaining a poncho for him, which requires electric cables, then trading detergent for those cables. The detergent is acquired by clever manipulation near the Super Spirit Laundry, causing paint to spill and the owner to leave the door open. With the cables, Grandma knits the poncho, which is given to Elliot, who then fixes the tracker. Returning the fixed tracker to Seamus leads them to a locked door, the entrance to the dangerous Dead End. Seamus, unable to proceed due to the Zurk threat, gives the cat an Outsider Badge and opens the door, setting the stage for the next chapter. This chapter expands upon the Slums, offering opportunities to find collectibles and interact with various robot inhabitants, further deepening the world's lore and connecting the narrative threads.
