The primary challenge arises in a large, industrial area where B.J. must defeat two Supersoldaten '46 models, early, heavily armored prototypes of the biomechanical soldiers. These enemies, armed with powerful machine guns, require strategic use of cover and the Laserkraftwerk's blast mode. Upon defeating the Supersoldaten, B.J. cuts through a panel to return to the HQ archives, completing his objective by delivering the welder to Set Roth. The chapter also includes opportunities to find collectibles, such as a Gold Item, a letter, an armor upgrade, and a music record. "New Tactics" acts as a brief, focused interlude, advancing the plot by securing a crucial item, offering character interactions, and providing a contained combat scenario, all while showcasing lesser-seen parts of the Resistance base before the action escalates in later chapters.
