Its "Guns, Love, and Tentacles" DLC whisks players to the icy, Lovecraftian world of Xylourgos, where Sir Alistair Hammerlock and Wainwright Jakobs' wedding is under threat from a sinister cult. This narrative culminates in a climactic showdown against Eleanor and The Heart of Gythian. The final boss encounter, found at the end of "The Call of Gythian" mission, pits the Vault Hunter against Eleanor Olmstead and Vincent, her husband, who is consumed by the monstrous "Heart of Gythian." Both Eleanor and The Heart share a single health bar, making it a unified, challenging fight in the aptly named Heart's Desire arena. The battle unfolds in distinct phases. Initially, Eleanor dominates, hovering and launching purple shards that explode on impact. She also summons Bonded cultists, useful for a Second Wind, and periodically retreats through portals. A signature move sees her draining health from her cultists to form a large, damaging spherical projectile, telegraphed by a red circle. As their shared health bar drops by a third, Vincent, as The Heart, joins the fray more directly. The arena fills with blood, and The Heart sprouts multiple tentacles and spikes. Players must target these spikes, especially the glowing critical spots, to deal damage. The Heart unleashes devastating tentacle slams and sweeps, while yellow bubbles on the ground, if not destroyed, spawn Krich enemies, adding to the chaos. In the final third of the fight, Eleanor rejoins, forcing players to contend with both bosses simultaneously. Managing Eleanor's projectiles and minions while dodging The Heart's tentacles and targeting its vulnerable spikes becomes a frantic dance. Upon their defeat, Eleanor falls, and The Heart explodes. A poignant moment follows where Vincent emerges, crawling to Eleanor for a tragic final embrace before they both succumb. Victorious Vault Hunters are rewarded with a chance at the Love Drill pistol and Conductor class mod, culminating in the long-awaited wedding of Hammerlock and Wainwright.
