Flameknuckle - Boss Fight | Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel | As Jack, Walkthrough, Gameplay, 4K
Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel
Description
Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, developed by 2K Australia in collaboration with Gearbox Software, serves as a compelling narrative bridge connecting the original Borderlands with its highly successful sequel. Set on Pandora’s moon, Elpis, and the orbiting Hyperion space station, the game delves into the tumultuous rise of Handsome Jack, the iconic antagonist of Borderlands 2. Players witness Jack's transformation from a seemingly ordinary Hyperion programmer into the megalomaniacal overlord fans have come to love to despise, offering a rich insight into his motivations and the circumstances that forged his villainy. The game retains the series' distinctive cel-shaded art style and signature offbeat humor, while introducing new gameplay elements that enhance the overall experience. The introduction of low-gravity environments significantly alters combat, allowing for higher jumps and a more vertical battlefield. Oxygen tanks, or “Oz kits,” are essential for survival in the vacuum of space, adding a layer of resource management to exploration and combat. New elemental damage types, such as cryo and laser weapons, further diversify the already extensive arsenal, providing players with satisfying tactical options. The game features four new playable characters – Athena, Wilhelm, Nisha, and Claptrap – each boasting unique skill trees and abilities that cater to various playstyles. Cooperative multiplayer remains a cornerstone, allowing up to four players to team up and navigate the treacherous lunar landscape together.
Flameknuckle represents the very first boss encounter in Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, providing a memorable introduction to the game's combat mechanics through a two-phased confrontation. This pyromaniac adversary, encased in a formidable robotic suit, is encountered early on Helios Station and acts as a significant early-game challenge for the Vault Hunters. The initial phase of the battle sees Flameknuckle piloting a heavily armed mecha, unleashing devastating melee attacks and torrents of flame. A key strategy here involves utilizing the non-player character, Jack, to draw Flameknuckle's attention, creating critical hit opportunities by targeting the fuel tank and cockpit situated on his back. It is important to note Flameknuckle's immunity to Cryo and Incendiary damage during this stage. Maintaining a safe distance can also be advantageous, as it often prompts Flameknuckle to focus his attacks on allied robots or Jack, leaving him exposed to player fire. Upon sustaining enough damage to the mecha, Flameknuckle is ejected from his suit, initiating the second phase. He then retreats to a nearby box on the edge of the arena, where he is continuously reinforced by enemy soldiers. In this more vulnerable state, the objective is to eliminate him swiftly before being overwhelmed by the arriving reinforcements. A headshot is the most effective method for dealing critical damage and securing a quick victory. For players interested in farming Flameknuckle for loot, it's worth noting he doesn't respawn in his initial location on Helios Station. However, a clone of Flameknuckle can be found and farmed in The Holodome, appearing in the first round after activating all five Jump Pads and also during the Badass Round. Flameknuckle has an increased chance of dropping the legendary Torgue rocket launcher, the Nukem, though farming for this weapon is best undertaken in True Vault Hunter Mode for a significantly higher chance of a legendary drop at earlier levels. While some players report obtaining the Nukem on their first playthrough, suggesting it can be a relatively common drop, it can also be acquired through the Grinder.
