To embark on this unique task, players must first complete the "Breeding Daisies" side mission. Upon its conclusion, they will find Mort, a farmer with an unusual passion for Kairos's native fauna, at his farmstead. Mort requires the Vault Hunter's unconventional assistance in managing his troublesome Thresher population. The core of the "Whack-A-Thresher" mission deviates sharply from the series' typical combat. Instead of emptying magazines into creatures, players must subdue the Threshers through a series of well-timed ground slams. The objective is not annihilation, but rather a forceful yet non-lethal dissuasion. Blue-marked holes appear on the ground, indicating where Threshers are about to emerge. Players must jump and then hold the crouch button mid-air to execute a ground slam, successfully hitting the Threshers seven times as they move around the designated area. To aid in achieving the necessary height for these crucial slams, strategically placed grapple points are available, offering a dynamic element to the execution. Successfully "whacking" the Threshers into submission, players will witness them return to their agricultural duties, and Mort will express his heartfelt gratitude.
