Leopol suspects these quakes are deliberately caused, setting the player on a path to uncover the source. The quest often becomes available after completing "A Lot to Process" or during "Unpaid Tab," once power is restored to the local faction town. The initial objective directs players to The Rumbling Cleft, where a cave entrance is sealed. After battling off an ambush of Creeps, players must utilize a geyser to reach a higher vantage point, bypassing the locked door and entering a hidden facility. Inside this facility, players navigate through malfunctioning doors and encounter more robotic Creeps. A central puzzle involves redirecting power to a server console by manipulating blue railings, sometimes using the grapple hook, to complete a circuit. Successfully hacking the server, while defending against attacks, reveals research by Zadra concerning sentient Synths. This revelation leads the player to the mastermind behind the artificial earthquakes, a formidable boss named Genone. The path to Genone requires another power-redirection puzzle to unlock his arena in the Lopside region. In the ensuing boss fight, players are advised to employ Shock weapons against Genone’s shields and Corrosive or Cryo weapons for his armored health. Upon defeating Genone, players obtain a keycard, allowing them to shut down the facility and cease the destructive artificial tremors, thus preventing further catastrophe and restoring a measure of peace to Carcadia Burn.
