Chapter 4, "Thy Bard with a Vengeance," plunges the Fatemaker into a mission of utmost importance: avenging the fallen Queen Butt Stallion and thwarting the Dragon Lord's nefarious schemes. Following the queen's untimely demise, the player is bestowed the title of Squire of the Realm. The immediate goal is to retrieve the Sword of Souls from the Dragon Lord's pyramid, a feat that necessitates a sea voyage. To embark on this maritime adventure, a ship is needed, and the dockmaster in Brighthoof obliges by helping to construct "The Good Ship Balsanya." However, this vessel requires the blessing of a bard to navigate treacherous waters. With the resident bard having eloped, the quest leads to the Weepwild Dankness in search of Torgue, a unique "half-bard, half-barbarian." The journey to Torgue is humorously punctuated by an obstacle: a colossal, cheesy snack food that must be cleared by completing a side quest. Upon reaching the Weepwild Dankness, Torgue is discovered in distress, his magical lute rendered inert by crystal thorns siphoning the forest's energy. The Dragon Lord's influence is evident as skeletal foes attack. To restore Torgue's musical prowess and cleanse the corrupted forest, the Fatemaker must shatter these thorns, battling waves of magical adversaries along the way. As the corruption recedes and Torgue's lute regains its power, his amplified musical attacks become a valuable asset. The chapter culminates in a confrontation with the Banshee at the Heart of the Forest, a formidable boss whose misty arena demands strategic use of cover. Defeating the Banshee liberates the Fairy Punchfather and, crucially, unlocks the third weapon slot for the Fatemaker, vastly expanding their combat potential. With a blessed and musically empowered ship, the Fatemaker is now ready to sail onward, closer to confronting the Dragon Lord.
