South Park: Snow Day!, made by Question and published by THQ Nordic, is a neat little cooperative action-adventure game with a roguelike twist. It's different from the old RPGs, the Stick of Truth and the Fractured but Whole. You play as the New Kid, joining Cartman, Stan, Kyle, and Kenny for a new fantasy adventure in South Park, all thanks to a massive blizzard that cancelled school. The game’s story is built around this magical snow day and the ensuing make-believe war between kid factions, with the New Kid trying to figure out why the blizzard keeps going. You can play with up to three friends or AI buddies, and the combat is real-time, unlike the previous turn-based games. There are lots of weapons to upgrade and special abilities, plus a cool card system for power-ups and "Bullshit cards" to get an edge. Chapter 5, “HELL'S PASS,” is the big finale, taking the New Kid and the boys into a gross fortress of filth to face off against a surprisingly formidable foe. This chapter turns Hell's Pass Hospital into a comically grim battleground, where the ultimate bad guy, Mr. Hankey the Christmas Poo, has turned it into his own "Magic Castle." Mr. Hankey is all about being "canceled" for his offensive tweets and is using dark matter to get revenge on South Park for abandoning him. The mission involves battling through the hospital, now filled with brown-themed enemies and gross stuff, to get to Mr. Hankey. You’ll be fighting turdlets and sticky poopy zombies, collecting Dark Matter and toilet paper for upgrades. The gameplay is pretty straightforward action, with you using weapons and abilities, and sometimes finding Henrietta for bonus cards. The big showdown is against a monstrous, worm-like Mr. Hankey called Scheisse-Hulud, which you have to defeat using toilet paper cannons. After the battle, the snow stops, and Jesus shows up, disappointed the kids didn't forgive Mr. Hankey. The boys apologize, Mr. Hankey forgives them, and in true South Park fashion, they ask for another snow day, which Mr. Hankey happily gives, bringing back the blizzard.
