Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island
ລາຍລະອຽດ
Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, released in 1995, is a delightful departure from the usual Mario adventures. It tells the story of Yoshi helping Baby Mario find his brother, Baby Luigi, who was snatched by Kamek. Instead of Mario, players control Yoshi, who can flutter jump, use his tongue to eat enemies, and then spit them out or turn them into eggs to throw. The game has a charming, hand-drawn art style that looks like a coloring book, and a unique health system where Baby Mario floats away in a bubble if Yoshi gets hit, and you have to catch him before time runs out.
World 1-4, Burt the Bashful's Fort, is the first fortress level and it’s a really fun and unique challenge. It’s a bit darker than the previous levels, with stone walls and a more serious feel, but still keeps that charming Yoshi's Island vibe. As you go through the fort, you’ll encounter "Burts," which are these funny round enemies with long noses. They hop around and give you a taste of the boss you'll face later. The level is full of tricky traps like falling walls and crushing ceilings, so you have to be quick and careful.
There are also lava pits to cross, which are always exciting, and you'll have to dodge "Blarggs," which are big lava monsters. This level also adds a little puzzle element with a locked door that requires you to find a hidden key. It’s a great way to practice using Yoshi's egg-throwing skills to find secrets. You can even find a secret area with Wild Piranha Plants where one of the five collectible flowers is hidden, encouraging you to explore every nook and cranny.
The real highlight of Burt the Bashful's Fort is the boss fight against Burt the Bashful himself. Kamek makes him huge, and he's wearing these big, blue overalls. The goal isn't to jump on him, but to hit him with eggs. Each time you hit him, his pants get looser, and after six hits, they fall off! He gets so embarrassed that he turns bright red and flies around before exploding. It's a hilarious and memorable boss battle that perfectly shows off the game's silly humor and unique mechanics. Finishing this fort is a big step, as it unlocks the rest of World 1, and it's a fantastic introduction to the fortress challenges in the game.
