Her dying words implore Corvo to find Emily, setting the stage for the unfolding narrative. The mission concludes with Corvo being accused of the Empress's murder, leading to his imprisonment in Coldridge Prison. "Returning Home" serves as a poignant introduction, establishing the game's themes of betrayal and loss while introducing key characters and setting up the conflict that drives the rest of the story.
