Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel

ລາຍລະອຽດ

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, a rollicking good time developed by 2K Australia and Gearbox Software, throws us onto Pandora's moon, Elpis, and into the orbit of the Hyperion station. It's the story of how Handsome Jack, that delightful villain from Borderlands 2, goes from a regular Joe programmer to the magnificent megalomaniac we all love to hate. The game keeps the series' signature cel-shaded looks and quirky humor, but sprinkles in some sweet new tricks. The moon's low gravity means you can jump higher and farther, making battles feel like a bouncy castle of bullets. And those Oz kits? They're your lifeline in space, but you gotta keep an eye on your oxygen, adding a nice layer of survival strategy to the whole shoot-em-up affair. Plus, we get cryo and laser weapons, letting you freeze and shatter baddies or blast 'em with some futuristic pew-pew. Among the early challenges, Deadlift stands out as quite the spectacle. He's the big boss of the local Scavs, and Janey Springs wants him gone for a digistruct key and, frankly, because he's a "dick." This fight takes place in a sprawling, multi-leveled arena that really pushes the low-gravity combat. Deadlift is a speedy fellow, zipping around the jump pads, making him a tricky target especially when your weapons are still finding their footing. His main gig is shock damage, and he's got a hefty shield that needs to go down before you can really hurt him. He'll blast you with beams that mess with your shield recharge and launch homing shock projectiles that you can shoot down if you're quick. Watch out for when he electrifies the floor – those fuse boxes are your cue to move! To top it off, he's got his Scav buddies running interference, making sure you're always on your toes. To beat this guy, you'll want to focus on stripping his shield, ideally with shock weapons. Sniper rifles are a good shout for those long-range duels. Once his shield is down, he's much more vulnerable. Finding a good spot with cover, maybe on a higher platform, and picking him off from a distance is a solid tactic. Getting up close and personal with a ground slam, especially with an explosive Oz kit, can stun him and leave him open for a beatdown. Just be sure to manage those pesky Scavs; they can make or break your "Second Wind." Defeating Deadlift can sometimes even net you the unique laser weapon, the Vandergraffen, making the whole chaotic dance worthwhile.
