Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel
ລາຍລະອຽດ
"Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel" is a game that fills the gap between the first two *Borderlands* adventures, showing how Handsome Jack went from a regular guy to the villain we all know and love to hate. Set on Pandora’s moon, Elpis, and the Hyperion space station, it digs deep into Jack's rise to power, giving players a peek into what made him tick. It keeps the series' signature look and funny jokes but brings in new gameplay elements. The moon’s low gravity means you can jump way higher, making fights more dynamic. Plus, you need oxygen tanks, or "Oz kits," to survive in space, adding a whole new layer of strategy as you have to keep an eye on your air supply. New elemental damage types like cryo and laser weapons also shake things up, letting you freeze enemies or blast them with futuristic beams. You get to play as four new characters – Athena, Wilhelm, Nisha, and Claptrap – each with their own special skills that change how you play. And of course, you can team up with up to four friends for some good old *Borderlands* co-op chaos.
In the crazy world of Elpis, even political movements get their own missions, and "Recruitment Drive" in *Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel* is a perfect example. This timed mission throws you into a propaganda battle between two small groups in Concordia: the Concordia People's Front (CPF) and the People's Liberation Army (PLA). It starts with Rose from the CPF asking for your help because their membership is dropping, and they need to get their message out. Your job is to put up their recruitment posters around Triton Flats while also taking down the PLA’s rival posters.
As soon as you accept, a timer starts ticking, making everything feel urgent. You have to plant three CPF posters in specific spots and destroy three PLA posters scattered across the Triton Flats. It's best to use a vehicle because the moon’s surface is huge. Putting up the CPF posters is easy – just interact at the marked spots, usually in busy areas. Taking down the PLA's posters is more hands-on; you're encouraged to set them on fire, which is a nice touch of rebellion. Many PLA posters are near explosive barrels, making their destruction quick and explosive.
Rose will chime in through your ECHO device, offering a mix of revolutionary passion and funny remarks about her less-than-stellar CPF colleagues, especially someone named Gabby. This gives you a glimpse into the CPF’s internal workings, showing them as well-meaning but a bit disorganized. The PLA, while not physically present, is represented by their propaganda, making them a clear rival for the attention of Concordia's citizens. Burning their posters is a symbolic choice in this small-scale political fight.
Completing "Recruitment Drive" within the time limit gets you experience points and a choice of gear. But the real reward is the fun and memorable experience of being part of a frantic, low-stakes propaganda war on the moon. "Recruitment Drive" perfectly shows how *Borderlands* can make even its smallest side missions entertaining and full of character, turning a simple timed task into a lively snapshot of life on Elpis.
