Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel
ລາຍລະອຽດ
*Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel* is a wild ride that bridges the gap between the first two *Borderlands* games. It dives deep into how Handsome Jack, the main bad guy in *Borderlands 2*, became the twisted tyrant we know and… well, love to hate. Set on Pandora’s moon, Elpis, and Hyperion’s space station, the story shows Jack’s transformation from a regular Hyperion employee to a power-hungry lunatic. This gives us a real look into his motivations and the events that turned him evil.
The game keeps that signature *Borderlands* cel-shaded look and its trademark dark humor. But it also brings in cool new stuff. Fighting on the moon means low gravity, which totally changes how you move and shoot. You can jump way higher and farther, making battles more vertical. Plus, you need oxygen tanks, called Oz kits, to survive in space. You gotta manage your air supply, which adds a fun strategic layer to exploring and fighting.
We also get new elemental damage types like cryo, which freezes enemies so you can shatter them, and laser weapons for that futuristic flair. These add even more ways to blast through the bad guys.
There are four new playable characters: Athena the Gladiator, Wilhelm the Enforcer, Nisha the Lawbringer, and Claptrap the Fragtrap. Each has their own cool skills. Athena uses a shield, Wilhelm calls in drones, Nisha is a sharpshooter, and Claptrap is, well, Claptrap – chaotic and unpredictable. Playing with up to three friends is still a blast, adding to the mayhem.
Chapter 10, "Eye to Eye," is a serious turning point. It’s all about stopping the Eye of Helios, the station’s super weapon, from falling into the wrong hands. This chapter throws you into a massive showdown with Colonel T. Zarpedon and her Lost Legion.
It starts with you and your crew needing to shut down the weapon on the Helios station. Jack, who’s getting more determined by the minute, tells you what to do. When you get to the Helios Targeting Centrum, Zarpedon has put up a force field. To break through, you and Moxxi help you figure out how to disable its four power sources. It’s a bit of a puzzle: you have to shoot blue fuel tanks and avoid red thermal charges to stop an explosion. You’ll fight your way through plenty of Lost Legion soldiers to get to them. One of them triggers waves of enemies while you’re trying to drain it, so you have to defend the console.
After that, you and Jack go through some tunnels and a laser-filled corridor before facing Zarpedon herself. The boss fight is in two parts. First, she’s in a big, armored suit, using lasers, electricity, and a light sword. Jack helps by drawing some of her fire and dealing with her backup. You’re told to use shock weapons on her shields and corrosive ones on her armor. Once you break the suit, she comes out on foot, much faster and tougher. Now she’s got a staff and hits hard with melee attacks. You gotta keep moving and use shock weapons on her shields, then switch to incendiary ones for damage. She also throws in some new, dangerous enemies. After a tough fight, you finally take her down.
The chapter ends with Jack finishing off Zarpedon and then you’re tasked with preparing the Eye of Helios for shutdown. You hit some consoles, and then report back to Jack. This sets up the final part of the game and Jack's full descent into the villain we all know.
