Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel

ລາຍລະອຽດ

"Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel" is a video game that tells the story of how Handsome Jack became the villain we know. It's set on Elpis, Pandora's moon, and the Hyperion space station. The game keeps the Borderlands' signature art style and humor, but it adds new things like low gravity, so you can jump really high, and oxygen tanks, or "Oz kits," which you need to survive in space. There are also new weapons, like cryo guns that freeze enemies and lasers. You can play as four new characters: Athena, Wilhelm, Nisha, and Claptrap, each with their own special abilities. Like other Borderlands games, it's great to play with friends. The story makes you think about power and how characters aren't always good or bad. Even though some people thought it wasn't very new, it really adds a lot to the Borderlands story and gives us a good look at why Handsome Jack turned out the way he did. Inside the Hyperion station, in a place called the Veins of Helios, there's a side mission called "Quarantine: Infestation." It starts when you find a worker bot command station. Tassiter, a rude Hyperion boss, tells you to check out a locked-down area in the maintenance tunnels where some employees are "wasting oxygen." It's a dark and funny start, typical of Borderlands. You use a worker bot to get into the tunnels, which are creepy and empty. Inside, you find out the "infestation" is actually former Hyperion workers who have turned into gross, cannibalistic monsters called "Boils." Your job is to kill them. These Boils have nasty pustules and wear masks. When you shoot their heads, they lose their masks and become even more dangerous. The fights are intense and feel crowded because the Boils attack you non-stop. After you kill enough of them, you have to deactivate the quarantine from a computer. You get experience and money for finishing the mission. This mission is also important because it leads to other missions with a character named Lazlo. Through Lazlo, you learn the truth: the "plague" is from parasites that make people crazy and hungry for flesh. Lazlo explains that Colonel Zarpedon, a bad guy from the game, released these parasites as a weapon to weaken the station before her attack. This makes the "zombie" outbreak a sad and deliberate act of war. Lazlo himself is a tragic character, driven mad by guilt and the parasites, caught between wanting to help and wanting to eat. "Quarantine: Infestation" is more than just a simple kill mission. It's a scary and atmospheric look at the darker parts of the Borderlands world. It uses creepy combat and the environment to create a sense of fear. While it's a simple mission on the surface, it adds important story details that make you think about how awful war can be and how corporate greed can lead to terrible things. The infected workers are a grim reminder that even in a corporate setting, unspeakable horrors can lurk.
