Kernel-pults are your best friend here, their butter stuns zombies, giving you more time to build up your sun and defenses, and a direct hit can even take out those pesky Seagull Zombies instantly. If a Pirate Captain shows up, giving a Spikeweed some Plant Food can create a powerful vine to take him out before his parrot can do any damage. Once you hit that 3,000-sun mark, you can finally shift your focus to pure defense, swapping out your sun-producers for more powerful attackers to finish the job.
