A key objective involves shooting five weak spots on the pipes to cool them down, as Joe begins to suffer from the intense heat. This segment heavily utilizes the game's enhanced mobility, with gliding, grappling, and climbing essential for navigating hanging platforms and climbable walls. Upon successfully cooling the pipes, the player continues to escort the couple until they encounter another locked emergency hatch, necessitating the search for an opening button. The mission culminates with the player reaching the pipe exit. From a high vantage point, the Vault Hunter glides to a building at the pit's end, climbs to its roof, and reunites with Joe, Sue, and Vito behind a gate, marking the end of this phase of their escape.
