Felix the Cat

Felix the Cat is a platform video game developed by Hudson Soft and based on the popular cartoon character of the same name. It was released for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in 1992 and for the Game Boy in 1993. The game was developed in Japan but only released in North America and Europe. In the game, players control Felix the Cat as he embarks on a mission to rescue his girlfriend Kitty, who has been kidnapped by the evil mad Professor. The gameplay involves navigating through various levels, defeating enemies, and overcoming obstacles. Felix can jump, fly, swim, and attack using different types of magic powers. The game features nine worlds, each with its own set of challenges and boss monsters. The game mechanics are straightforward: the A button is used for jumping (and flying/swimming by pressing repeatedly), and the B button is used for attacking. Felix loses a life if he falls into a bottomless pit, runs out of time, or loses all his health. Scattered items throughout the levels replenish health and magic. In 2024, a compilation of the NES and Game Boy versions was released for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4 by Limited Run Games and Konami. This compilation includes features like the ability to save and rewind gameplay at any time.
