Borderlands 4
Опис
Borderlands 4, the highly anticipated installment in the beloved looter-shooter series, arrived on September 12, 2025, developed by Gearbox Software and published by 2K. Available on current-gen consoles and PC, the game transports players to the vibrant, alien world of Kairos, six years after the events of Borderlands 3. This new planet, inadvertently revealed by Lilith's actions, is under the iron fist of the tyrannical Timekeeper and his synthetic army. Players step into the boots of one of four new Vault Hunters – Rafa the Exo-Soldier, Harlowe the Gravitar, Amon the Forgeknight, or Vex the Siren – joining the Crimson Resistance to fight for Kairos's freedom. The game boasts a seamless, open-world experience across Kairos's four distinct regions, enhanced traversal mechanics, and the signature blend of chaotic gunplay and outrageous loot that fans adore, all built on Unreal Engine 5.
Amidst the main narrative of rebellion and cosmic secrets, Borderlands 4 offers a wealth of side quests that enrich its world and characters. A particularly poignant and surprisingly sentimental mission is "No Place Like Home," which centers on our favorite, usually obnoxious, robot, Claptrap. This quest becomes available in the Hungering Plain region after completing the main story mission "Down and Outbound." Players find Claptrap unusually melancholic, feeling out of place on Kairos and nostalgic for his past on Pandora. He enlists the Vault Hunter's help to retrieve stolen sentimental items from the Timekeeper's forces, marking the beginning of his personal questline in the game.
The mission challenges players to recover a "Tasteful Portrait," a processor from Claptrap's former robot girlfriend, VR-ON1CA, and a mask from a long-dead Psycho. Each retrieval involves unique gameplay challenges, from defeating minibosses like the incendiary "Big Orange Hothead" to solving a laser puzzle using the new grapple hook traversal tool. The portrait, found in a shrine to Mad Moxxi, evokes Claptrap's memories of her fiery antics. The retrieval of VR-ON1CA's processor ends in tragedy, as a laser blast fries it, symbolizing permanent loss. The final item, the Psycho mask, is found atop a tower.
The emotional climax occurs when Claptrap asks the player to place these mementos on a raft, attach explosives, and then launch it into the water. With a heartfelt farewell to his past, Claptrap orders the raft detonated, symbolizing his acceptance of his new reality on Kairos and his decision to let go of his homesickness. This act offers a profound moment of character development, transforming Claptrap from a comic relief character into one grappling with loss and acceptance. "No Place Like Home" is a standout side quest, demonstrating Borderlands 4's ability to weave touching narratives into its chaotic, loot-driven universe. Completing the quest rewards players with experience, currency, Eridium, cosmetic items, and unlocks the next stage of Claptrap's evolving story.
