After a victory in the Weepwild, the player needs a ship to reach the Dragon Lord's lair, the Fearamid. The quest begins with the explosion-obsessed Torgue, leading to a hilariously absurd musical interlude. Players are tasked with laying down beats and playing musical instruments, culminating in the ultimate objective: to "BLOW UP THE %#$&ING OCEAN." This results in a spectacular, magical explosion that vaporizes the entire ocean, leaving a dry seabed and, amusingly, destroying the player's ship in the process. This surreal solution allows players to traverse the newly exposed ocean floor on foot, transitioning into the next segment of the game. This dry seabed leads to the Wargtooth Shallows, a perilous area teeming with wrecked ships and dangerous creatures. Here, players encounter the pirate Bones Three-Wood and aid him in his quest against LeChance. This involves a whimsical hunt for the components to reassemble Bones' companion, Polly, and then recruiting Bones' former crewmates to assemble a new ship. The chapter culminates in a challenging boss fight against the skeletal pirate LeChance, whose defeat finally clears the path to the Fearamid.
