Completing the mission involves reporting back to Sir Hammerlock, who rewards the player with experience, currency, and a skin customization. While seemingly a simple gear acquisition quest, “Shielded Favors” serves as an early demonstration of the core Borderlands 2 loop: encountering an obstacle, engaging in combat to overcome it, and being rewarded with loot or progress.
