The player is tasked with facilitating this fiery send-off. The initial steps involve gathering rocket components and a detonator from near Grouse. This leads to a journey to the Tazendeer Ruins, an area heavily occupied by the rival Maliwan corporation. Players must battle through three sections of Typhon's old base, clearing out all Maliwan forces. After securing the base, the search for Typhon's final ECHO logs begins. These logs reveal Typhon's last wishes for his robotic friends. One log is dropped by the last enemy, another is cleverly hidden and must be shot down, and the final one is obtained after defeating the unique beast, the Omega Mantakore, encountered outside the base. With the components and logs collected, the player returns to the Maliwan base launch site. Here, the rocket is assembled, Typhon's final words are placed inside, and the detonator is set. The climactic moment involves launching the rocket, sending Typhon's poignant last messages soaring into the Nekrotafeyo sky in a fiery spectacle. The mission concludes with a return to Sparrow in Desolation's Edge, where the player is rewarded with experience points, money, and Eridium. The ending of "Fire in the Sky" provides a surprisingly touching moment within the often-absurd world of Borderlands, as Sparrow and Grouse, inspired by Typhon's last words, share a dance as a final farewell.
