Borderlands 3 is a frantic first-person shooter that throws players into a chaotic world of loot, guns, and outlandish characters. As a Vault Hunter, you navigate various planets, battling cultists and monstrous creatures to stop the villainous Calypso Twins from seizing ultimate power. Chapter 17, "Blood Drive," plunges the player into a race against time to save the abducted Patricia Tannis. The Calypso Twins are planning a public execution during an Eridium pledge drive. The mission begins on Pandora, requiring travel through hostile areas to reach Devil's Razor. There, the player learns Tannis is held within Carnivora, a massive mobile fortress and festival site. To infiltrate, a vehicle is required, specifically Big Donny's golden chariot, stolen after defeating him and his crew. Once inside Carnivora, the player battles through the festival grounds before the massive vehicle starts moving. A vehicle chase ensues, demanding the player disable Carnivora by targeting its fuel lines, transmission, and main tank. With the vehicle immobilized, access is gained to its interior, a maze of shipping containers and enemies leading to the final arena. Here, Tannis is found strapped to the Agonizer 9000, a colossal murderbot operated by Pain and Terror. The fight against the Agonizer 9000 is a multi-phase boss encounter. Players must dodge its devastating attacks like the "Tenderizer" and sawblades while targeting weak spots on its armored body. After depleting its armor, the Agonizer exposes its Eridium core, making the fight quicker but still requiring caution against its energy beam. Defeating the Agonizer 9000 ejects Pain and Terror, who are easily dispatched. With the threat neutralized, Tannis reveals her latent Siren powers, allowing her to finalize the Agonizer's destruction, completing the mission and offering valuable rewards.
