Chapter 17 - Blood Drive, Catch up and Stall the Carnivora | Borderlands 3 | As Moze, Walkthrough
Borderlands 3
Description
Borderlands 3 is a chaotic and colorful first-person shooter renowned for its cel-shaded graphics, over-the-top humor, and an almost endless supply of procedurally generated loot. As a player, you step into the boots of one of four distinct Vault Hunters, each with unique abilities, and set out on a galaxy-spanning adventure to stop the power-hungry Calypso Twins. The game blends intense shooting with RPG elements, offering deep skill trees, diverse environments across multiple planets, and a co-op experience that thrives on shared mayhem and the hunt for better gear.
Chapter 17, "Blood Drive," is a major turning point in the narrative, following the abduction of Patricia Tannis. The mission is a frantic race against time to rescue Tannis before the Calypso Twins execute her during an Eridium pledge drive aimed at powering up the Pandora Vault Key. Recommended for players around level 35, this chapter kicks off in The Droughts on Pandora, requiring vehicular access to Devil's Razor and a meeting with Vaughn in Roland's Rest. Vaughn directs the player to the Splinterlands and the notorious Carnivora Festival, where Tannis is held. Gaining entry initially fails with a standard vehicle on a conveyor, forcing the player to infiltrate Big Donny's Chop Shop, defeat him, and claim his unique "Golden Chariot" to bypass the gate.
Inside the Carnivora grounds, a sprawling desert littered with enemy encampments, the player fights towards the main gates. A cinematic reveals the colossal scale of Carnivora – not a location, but a mobile fortress. This behemoth, driven by the bosses Pain and Terror, then speeds away, initiating a high-stakes vehicle chase. The objective is to "Catch up and Stall the Carnivora." The player spawns a vehicle and pursues the moving fortress, targeting its weak points: three red fuel lines, deployed escort vehicles, a red transmission axle, and finally, the red main tank on its rear. The chase is perilous, with instant death if run over, but successfully disabling the Carnivora allows the player to board its interior, the Guts of Carnivora.
Navigating through the makeshift structures and fighting numerous COV enemies, including Tinks, the player progresses through areas like Gassup Garage towards The Main Stage. After a cosmetic choice of introduction music, the player drops into an arena for the boss fight against the Agonizer 9000, piloted by Pain and Terror. This robotic construct utilizes deadly attacks like a giant spiked board, a thrown saw blade, a sweeping blade, and floor-igniting fire. Strategy focuses on constant movement and targeting its weak points: glowing red eyes, fuel tanks, and eventually a purple energy core on its stomach. Enemies spawn to provide Second Wind opportunities. Defeating the Agonizer 9000, and then the much weaker Pain and Terror, finally allows the player to reach Tannis. The mission culminates in a shocking reveal: Tannis is a Siren, a significant plot point that reshapes future events. Completing "Blood Drive" rewards the player and sets the stage for the subsequent mission, "Angels and Speed Demons."
