World of Goo 2 is a physics-based puzzle game where players construct structures using various Goo Balls to guide a target number to an exit pipe. Soggy Bottom is the sixth level in World of Goo 2, appearing in the first chapter, "The Long Juicy Road." This chapter is set 15 years after the original game, during summer, and introduces the re-emergence of Goo Balls and pink squid creatures following seismic activity. The level fits within the chapter's narrative context of the World of Goo Organization, now a rebranded non-profit, resuming Goo Ball collection. "The Long Juicy Road" as a whole introduces mechanics like Goo Water with fluid physics and aimable Goo Cannons, along with new Goo types such as Conduit Goo which handles liquids. Located after "Exemplary Trajectories" and before "Launch Breaks," Soggy Bottom presents players with a puzzle requiring strategic use of the available goo types and physics. Like other levels in World of Goo 2, it includes Optional Completion Distinctions (OCDs), which are bonus challenges. For Soggy Bottom, these OCDs are: collecting 13 or more Goo Balls, using 12 or fewer moves, and finishing within 41 seconds. These optional objectives encourage players to explore different strategies beyond simply completing the level, testing their understanding of the game's mechanics and level design. Achieving one OCD marks the level with a gray flag on the chapter map, while achieving all three earns a red flag.
