Hogwarts Legacy is an immersive, open-world action RPG set in the 1800s wizarding world. Players experience life as a student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry like never before, exploring iconic locations and mastering magical abilities. Early in the game, players can embark on the side quest, "The Daedalian Keys," initiated by Nellie Oggspire in the Transfiguration Courtyard. Nellie explains that Daedalian Keys have returned to Hogwarts, each guarding a House Cabinet. After speaking with Nellie, the first key is located in the Astronomy Tower. Upon reaching the top of the tower, the key emerges and leads you downstairs, to the classroom near the staircase, flying around a locked cabinet. When close to the key, interact with it to release it. You then must time it just right to get the key to slap into the cabinet. By slapping the key at the center you will unlock the House Cabinet. Opening this cabinet yields a House Token, prompting a return to Nellie. She explains that the tokens unlock a special chest in your house common room. Upon inserting the token into the House Chest, the player learns that 15 more keys and tokens are hidden throughout Hogwarts, initiating a scavenger hunt for a unique house-themed reward.
