Hogwarts Legacy is an open-world action RPG set in the Wizarding World of the 1800s. Players attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, learning spells, brewing potions, and exploring the vast surrounding landscape. Madam Kogawa's Assignment 1 is an early quest that introduces players to broom flight. After purchasing a broom in Hogsmeade for 600 gold, Madam Kogawa tasks the player with popping balloons. Five balloons are located above Hogsmeade Station, and another five are positioned around the Quidditch pitch. Players must fly their broom through the balloons to pop them, not needing any specific spells or items to do so. Once all ten balloons have been destroyed, the player returns to Madam Kogawa. As a reward for completing the assignment, she teaches the player the Glacius spell, which freezes enemies. This spell is invaluable for combat encounters and solving puzzles throughout the game.
