Hogwarts Legacy is an immersive open-world action RPG set in the 1800s wizarding world. As a fifth-year student at Hogwarts, players explore a rich environment, learn spells, brew potions, and uncover a hidden truth. One of the side quests players can embark on is "Brother's Keeper," which starts in Upper Hogsfield. Dorothy Sprottle, a concerned villager, tasks the player with finding Bardolph Beaumont, a missing person last seen practicing Dark Magic near the forest. The quest leads the player to a ruined location where a grim discovery awaits. Bardolph has become an Inferius, a reanimated corpse controlled by dark magic. After defeating the Inferius, the player must return to Upper Hogsfield and inform Bardolph's sister, Claire Beaumont, of his fate. The player is faced with a difficult choice: reveal the horrifying truth or fabricate a less painful story. Telling Claire the truth brings her horror but also closure, knowing her brother's suffering has ended. Choosing to lie offers her a false hope, sparing her the gruesome reality. Regardless of the choice, the quest highlights the darker aspects of the wizarding world and the difficult decisions one must make.
