The Name Game | Borderlands 2 | Walkthrough, No Commentary, 4K
Borderlands 2
Description
The Name Game is an optional mission in Borderlands 2, initiated by the eccentric character Sir Hammerlock. Set in the whimsical landscape of Three Horns - Divide, players are tasked with helping Hammerlock come up with a more appealing name for the creatures known as bullymongs. The mission begins with Hammerlock expressing his disdain for the current name and suggesting that players gather information to inspire a new one.
To complete the mission, players must search through five bullymong piles, which are marked by waypoints. Alongside this, there’s a bonus objective to kill 15 bullymongs, allowing players to engage in combat while exploring the area. Hammerlock’s quest for a suitable name leads to a humorous exchange: after the player kills a bullymong with a grenade, he renames them “primal beasts.” However, upon discovering that this name won’t work due to publisher restrictions, he changes it again to “ferovores” and requests that players shoot their projectiles out of the air.
As the mission progresses, Hammerlock humorously settles on the name “bonerfarts,” which he, too, learns cannot be used. Ultimately, after players kill five of these so-called bonerfarts, the name reverts back to the original bullymong. This light-hearted quest not only showcases the developers’ playful humor but also encourages players to interact with the game world in a fun and engaging way, all while earning experience points and rewards like shotguns or shields.
