Jelly School | World of Goo 2 | Walkthrough, Gameplay, No Commentary, 4K

World of Goo 2

Description

World of Goo 2 is a physics-based puzzle game where players build structures using various types of goo balls to guide a minimum number of them to an exit pipe. It builds upon the original game by introducing new goo types and liquid physics. The game features a new story across over 60 levels, continuing the quirky tone and distinctive art style of its predecessor. "Jelly School" is the introductory level of the second chapter, "A Distant Signal," which takes place on a floating island made from the remains of the Beauty Generator from the first game. This level serves to introduce the new Jelly Goo. Jelly Goos are large, anthropomorphic goo balls with an extra eye and a rolling behavior. Their key mechanic is their ability to break down into black liquid, either instantly upon hitting something destructive or gradually when touching a sharp edge or connected to goo balls that absorb liquid. As the first level featuring them, "Jelly School" presumably focuses on teaching the player how to interact with and utilize this property, likely by guiding them through obstacles that necessitate understanding their liquid transformation. Within the context of Chapter 2, players, with the help of the newly introduced Jelly Goos, must navigate the hazardous floating island to reach the main satellite dish at the top. Along the way, other new game mechanics are encountered. The overarching narrative of the chapter involves the inhabitants losing their Wi-Fi and the goo balls undertaking the journey to reactivate the satellite dishes, which ultimately allows the World of Goo Organization to broadcast advertisements globally, restoring connectivity and pleasing the world's inhabitants. Like other levels in the game, "Jelly School" includes Optional Completion Distinctions (OCDs) that provide additional challenges. These include collecting a specific number of goo balls, completing the level within a move limit, or finishing under a time limit. For "Jelly School," the OCDs require collecting 54 or more goo balls, completing it in 16 moves or fewer, or finishing in 57 seconds. Achieving these optional goals adds replayability and depth, requiring players to develop efficient strategies and master the new mechanics introduced in the level.
