Coinciding with this, the World of Goo Corporation returns, rebranded as the "World of Goo Organization," claiming to be environmentally friendly while resuming its collection of Goo Balls. The narrative unfolds through cutscenes and signs by a new character, the Distant Observer. The gameplay in Chapter 1 introduces players to both familiar and new Goo types. Common and Ivy Goo return, while Product Goo, Conduit Goo, Water Goo, and Balloon Goo are new additions. The chapter also features interactive elements like Goo Cannons and Goo Water, which uses realistic fluid dynamics. New characters like the unseen Distant Observer, the Customers, and aquatic creatures like Squiddy and the large Island Monsters are introduced. The chapter culminates in a party where Goo Balls use a hook to attract a giant squid-like creature. This creature surfaces, revealing that the entire landmass of Chapter 1 is on its back. The creature then breathes fire into space, an event that, 100,000 years later, is noticed by the Distant Observer on a distant world, connecting the events.
