World of Goo 2 is a physics-based puzzle game where players build structures using various "Goo Balls" to guide them to an exit pipe. It's the sequel to the popular 2008 game, retaining the core mechanics while introducing new Goo types and, significantly, liquid physics. The game features a new story, over 60 levels across five chapters, and continues the distinctive art style and musical score. Soggy Bottom is the sixth level found in the first chapter of World of Goo 2, titled "The Long Juicy Road." This chapter serves as the introduction to the game's narrative and introduces several new gameplay elements, including Goo Water with realistic physics and aimable Goo Cannons. The chapter begins fifteen years after the original game, following seismic activity that brings back Goo Balls and introduces strange pink squid creatures. The World of Goo Corporation has rebranded itself as the World of Goo Organization and is once again collecting Goo Balls, now under the guise of environmental concern. Located within this initial chapter, Soggy Bottom follows the level "Exemplary Trajectories" and comes before "Launch Breaks." Like all levels in World of Goo 2, Soggy Bottom includes Optional Completion Distinctions (OCDs), offering optional challenges beyond the basic objective of reaching the exit pipe. These challenges in Soggy Bottom are to collect 13 or more Goo Balls, complete the level in 12 moves or fewer, and finish within a strict time limit of 41 seconds. Successfully completing even one OCD marks the level with a gray flag on the chapter map, while achieving all three grants a red flag, indicating mastery of the level's specific puzzles and physics.
