World of Goo 2 is a physics-based puzzle game where players build structures using Goo Balls to reach an exit pipe. Chapter 1, "The Long Juicy Road," serves as a reintroduction to this quirky world. Set 15 years after the first game, the chapter begins in summer, revealing Goo Balls reappearing after seismic activity alongside strange pink squid creatures. The World of Goo Corporation, now the "World of Goo Organization," resurfaces, claiming environmental consciousness while resuming goo collection. This opening chapter introduces players to both familiar Goo types like Common and Ivy Goo and new ones such as Product, Conduit, Water, and Balloon Goo. Interactive elements like Goo Cannons and Goo Water with realistic fluid dynamics are also featured. The story unfolds through cutscenes and signs written by the new character, the Distant Observer. New characters like the Customers, Squiddy, and massive Island Monsters are also introduced. The chapter culminates in a party where a large squid creature, the Island Monster, is revealed to be the landmass itself, breathing fire into space, a light signal that reaches the Distant Observer far away 100,000 years later.
