The Wendigo is a formidable creature residing in The Cankerwood. The mission tasks the Vault Hunter with hunting this beast. This involves tracking its movements, clearing areas, and meticulously preparing bait. The bait, a "Flaming Maw Mashroom Brew," is crafted from "Geselium Avantus" and "Wolven Meat" at a mixing factory. After defending Claptrap and joining Hammerlock, the bait is set, luring the Wendigo into its lair for the confrontation. The boss fight against the Wendigo is dynamic. It begins with the creature launching flames. A core mechanic is the Wendigo’s ability to leap onto the ceiling, dropping icy stalactites. Crucially, it will occasionally expose its vulnerable belly while perched on a ledge; hitting this sends it crashing to the ground. On the ground, the Wendigo charges. If its antlers strike a fallen stalactite, it staggers, again exposing its belly for a damage window. Defeating the Wendigo yields "Wendigo Trophies," which are used to open a gate, advancing the mission. The victory also offers a higher chance of obtaining the legendary Stauros' Burn assault rifle. The creature itself is a nod to the legendary man-eating entity.
