Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, a turn-based RPG set in Belle Époque France, sees players leading an expedition against the Paintress, a being erasing people annually. Gestral Village, north of the Ancient Sanctuary, is a bustling hub. Led by Chief Golgra, the village features a bazaar, arena, theater, and more. To progress, Expeditioners must compete in arena battles, often culminating in a fight against the Stranger, who is revealed to be Sciel. The village offers numerous side quests: from defeating merchants for unique weapons and items to finding Expedition Journals for rewards. Players can also help a gestral create potent gunpowder, solve a gambler's riddle, or uncover secrets within the Manor. Optional challenges include a hidden arena, a floating dark arena, and a parkour challenge on Gestral Beach, all yielding valuable gear and outfits.
