Mime - Esquie's Nest | Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 | Walkthrough, Gameplay, No Commentary, 4K

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

Description

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is a captivating turn-based RPG, drawing inspiration from Belle Époque France. In this grim world, a mysterious Paintress annually erases people of a specific age, a cycle of death known as the "Gommage." Players lead Expedition 33, a desperate quest to destroy the Paintress before she paints "33" and wipes out humanity. The gameplay cleverly blends traditional turn-based mechanics with real-time actions, such as parrying and mastering attack rhythms, offering a unique and immersive combat experience. Within this richly detailed world, players will inevitably encounter the enigmatic Mime, particularly in the cavernous expanse of Esquie's Nest during Act 1. Esquie's Nest is a vital location where the Expedition seeks the legendary Esquie's aid for sea passage. Before this, players must help Esquie retrieve his beloved pet rock, Florrie, stolen by the boss, Francois. The nest itself is a labyrinth of narrow tunnels and open spaces, dimly lit by hanging lanterns, requiring the use of grappling hooks for navigation. The Mime in Esquie's Nest is an optional, yet compelling, mini-boss. Its nest isn't a traditional lair but rather a secluded spot within the larger cavern. After passing the entrance expedition flag and entering an open section, players can spot the Mime on a lower ledge near the water by looking down to the right, accessible by a careful jump. Alternatively, from Francois' Cave checkpoint, one can ascend via a rope and then carefully descend to the Mime's watery haunt. Combat against the Mime is a test of strategy. It opens battles with a protective barrier, demanding players utilize defense-breaking skills like Gustave's "Overcharge" to penetrate its multiple shields. Once vulnerable, the Mime unleashes a "Hand-to-hand combo" of punches and a headbutt, or a "Strange combo" involving an invisible hammer that can silence characters. Mastering parries and dodges is paramount. Defeating this particular Mime in Esquie's Nest is uniquely rewarding, granting Sciel the purely cosmetic "Baguette" outfit and haircut, a charming ensemble featuring a white pinstriped shirt, black suspender pants, a red and white plaid cloth holding a baguette, and a jaunty red beret. This encounter not only adds depth to the exploration but also offers a quirky, memorable reward for the player's persistence.
