His first encounter at Stone Wave Cliffs is unwinnable, a narrative beat where Gustave tragically sacrifices himself. This sets the stage for later, winnable boss fights. In Old Lumière, Renoir reveals Verso is his son. He uses attacks like summoning Chroma pools, powerful AoE attacks, and healing petals that must be destroyed. Crucially, he attempts to vanish party members, demanding precise counters. He also summons quick-firing masks. The final battles occur at the Monolith, where the "painted" Renoir is ultimately destroyed by Maelle with the Curator's aid, culminating a series of challenging encounters.
