Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is a turn-based RPG where players lead Expedition 33 to stop the Paintress from erasing humanity. After recruiting Monoco at Monoco's Station, the camp transforms into a vital hub. The mysterious Curator, now present, allows players to upgrade Monoco's Lumina Points with “Colour of Lumina,” boosting his passive skills. The Curator also uses Chroma Catalysts and “Shape” items to enhance all party equipment. Monoco’s unique skill acquisition, tied to defeating specific "Nevron" enemies, transforms post-camp exploration into targeted hunts for new abilities. Beyond mechanics, camp fosters character development through one-on-one conversations, raising relationship levels, unlocking Gradient Attacks, and offering reflective campfire cutscenes and journal updates.
