Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is a turn-based RPG set in Belle Époque France, where a mysterious Paintress annually erases people of a specific age. Players lead Expedition 33 to stop her before the curse reaches their own age. The combat blends traditional turn-based mechanics with real-time dodges, parries, and aiming for immersive battles. Monoco’s Station is a pivotal, snowy train station. It's here that the party recruits Monoco, the final member. Players first duel Monoco, who showcases shapeshifting abilities. Immediately after, a boss battle against the Stalact introduces the Gradient Attack system and offers a challenging fight requiring elemental strategy. After these trials, the station transforms into a small hub. Grandis NPCs offer quests, powerful weapons like "Coldum" and "Grandaro," and even cosmetic "Pure" outfits through poetic challenges. Monoco, a battle-loving Gestral, uniquely learns skills by defeating Nevron enemies, enhancing the importance of exploring past areas.
