Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is a turn-based RPG set in Belle Époque-inspired France. Players lead Expedition 33 to destroy the Paintress, a mysterious entity whose "Gommage" erases people yearly. Blending traditional turn-based combat with real-time dodging and parrying, the game offers deep character customization. The Mask Keeper boss fight on Visages' Island is a challenging two-phase encounter. Initially, players battle Visages, a decoy summoning masks that grant abilities like a three-hit combo or shield blasts. Strategically targeting glowing mask eyes prevents their attacks. Upon defeating Visages, the true fight against the agile Mask Keeper, "He Who Guards Truth With Lies," begins. Vulnerable to Dark and Fire, the Mask Keeper demands quick reflexes. Undefeated optional mini-bosses (Anger, Sadness, Joy) from the island’s vales will empower the Mask Keeper with healing, "Exhaust" infliction, or extra turns. The Mask Keeper unleashes devastating combos, area-of-effect Dark energy, and a fiery sword attack. At half health, it gains a defensive aura, and near defeat, buffs itself. Victory yields powerful rewards, including the "Immaculate" Pictos and Maelle's "Barrier Breaker" weapon.
