Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is a striking turn-based RPG set in a Belle Époque-inspired fantasy world where an annual "Gommage" erases citizens by turning them to smoke. Players lead Expedition 33, a desperate mission to halt this grim cycle before the number reaches 33. After the events at the Monolith, the party returns to a camp transformed. The once-helpful Curator has revealed himself as the antagonist Renoir Dessendre and has departed, but his services are now accessible at any expedition flag, streamlining upgrades. Crucially, Esquie gains the ability to fly, unlocking the entire world map for exploration. This opens up new side quests, powerful items, and the opportunity to deepen bonds with companions to maximum levels, unlocking potent new abilities and rewarding players with valuable lore.
