Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 plunges players into a Belle Époque-inspired fantasy world where an annual culling event, the "Gommage," threatens to erase humanity. Players lead Expedition 33, a desperate mission to defeat the mysterious Paintress and end her curse. The Stone Wave Cliffs Cave, accessible in Act II, offers a rewarding detour. East of the cliffs, players find the friendly merchant Appla, offering unique cosmetic items. The cave's main challenge is the Chromatic Hexga, an optional boss whose crystal vulnerability requires strategic targeting to prevent invulnerability. Victory yields the "Energising Revive" Pictos, while the "Exhausting Power" Pictos and a Chroma Elixir Shard await further exploration, alongside lore-filled journals.
