The player is tasked by Rush, the leader of the stranded Outbounders, to complete a food delivery to settlers. This mission immediately highlights the desperate circumstances and reliance on external help faced by the resistance. The journey involves collecting scattered rations and delivering them to three distinct locations. While the first delivery is uneventful, the subsequent ones are fraught with peril. At the second stop, the Vault Hunter must contend with the Timekeeper's synthetic forces, the Order, including a mini-boss encounter. The final delivery sees players defending a settler named Marlowe from waves of Rippers. Completing "Working for Tips" rewards players with experience and cash, but more importantly, it deepens their understanding of the everyday challenges and the fight for survival on Kairos, reinforcing the player's vital role as a protector and provider for the embattled inhabitants.
