Children of the Vault | Borderlands 3 | As Zane, Walkthrough, No Commentary

Borderlands 3

Description

Borderlands 3 is a vibrant and chaotic first-person shooter that blends intense combat with RPG elements, famous for its cel-shaded art style, irreverent humor, and emphasis on acquiring a vast array of procedurally generated weapons. Players choose from four distinct Vault Hunters, each with unique abilities, and embark on an interplanetary journey to stop a dangerous cult. The game builds upon its predecessors by expanding the universe, introducing new mechanics like sliding and mantling, and retaining the signature loot-driven gameplay. The Children of the Vault (COV) are the primary antagonists of Borderlands 3, a fanatical cult led by the charismatic and power-hungry Calypso Twins, Tyreen and Troy. These Siren siblings have united various bandit and psycho groups under their banner, creating a formidable force dedicated to harnessing the power of the galaxy's Vaults. The COV are characterized by their extreme devotion to the Twins, whom they worship as "The Twin Gods." They use media manipulation, broadcasting violent "Livescreams" and "Let's Flays" across the ECHOnet to recruit followers and spread their influence, satirizing modern influencer culture. Their followers, known as "the family," view outsiders, particularly the Vault Hunters, as heretics. The COV faction comprises diverse enemy types, from standard bandits and psychos to specialized units like Fanatics, Tinks, and the powerful Anointed variants. They employ unique vehicles and have a strong presence across multiple planets, constructing grand religious structures like the Cathedral of the Twin Gods and broadcasting their propaganda from scattered Crimson Radios. As a weapon manufacturer in the game, COV weapons are distinctively crude and scavenged, featuring spikes, spray paint, and a ramshackle aesthetic. Unlike other manufacturers, their weapons lack traditional magazines and instead fire continuously until they overheat, requiring a repair animation rather than a reload. This mechanic adds a unique strategic element to managing their weaponry. The Children of the Vault’s fanaticism, media manipulation, and violent pursuit of the Vaults drive the game's main narrative, making them a central and memorable force in the Borderlands universe.
