Ancient Egypt, Day 13 | Plants vs Zombies 2 | Walkthrough, Gameplay, No Commentary
Plants vs. Zombies 2
Description
Plants vs. Zombies 2, a delightful sequel to the original tower defense game, challenges players to defend their lawns from waves of creative and often comical zombies by strategically planting an arsenal of unique flora. This time-traveling adventure, spearheaded by Crazy Dave and his trusty time machine, Penny, transports players to various historical eras, each with its own distinct aesthetic, challenges, and zombie types. Day 13 in the Ancient Egypt world, a crucial early stage, serves as an enlightening tutorial that elegantly introduces a fundamental shift in gameplay through its environmental hazards.
This particular level is defined by the introduction of "Mold Colonies," slimy green patches that render the two columns closest to the player's house unusable for planting. This seemingly small change drastically alters strategy. Players are forced to abandon their traditional placement of Sunflowers in the safest, leftmost columns and instead build their sun economy further up the lawn, in the third column. This effectively compresses the battlefield, reducing the buffer zone between the plants and the approaching zombies and demanding quicker reactions and more immediate defensive setups.
While the lawn space is reduced, Day 13 balances this by presenting a less formidable zombie lineup compared to later stages. The primary threats are basic Mummies and Conehead Mummies. However, the level introduces two unique zombies requiring specific tactics: Ra Zombies, who pilfer precious sun, and Camel Zombies, whose linked formations necessitate piercing or high-damage attacks to overcome. Adding to the challenge are "Sandstorms," a signature of Ancient Egypt, which can propel zombies directly into the player's weakened defenses, making the reduced planting space even more precarious.
To conquer Day 13, a well-chosen loadout is key. Prioritizing Sunflowers in the third column, followed by sturdy defenses like Wall-nuts and offensive plants such as Cabbage-pults or Bloomerangs in the subsequent columns, proves effective. The player must skillfully manage the Ra Zombies' sun-stealing and efficiently dismantle the Camel Zombie formations. The ultimate reward for surviving this tactical trial is the unlocking of the Bonk Choy, a powerful melee plant whose close-range combat prowess is perfectly suited to the tighter engagements necessitated by the mold colonies, preparing players for the escalating challenges that lie ahead.
