Таинственные болезни, НЛО | Borderlands 2 | As Krieg, Walkthrough, No Commentary
Borderlands 2
Description
Borderlands 2 is a first-person shooter with RPG elements, set on the dangerous, treasure-filled planet Pandora. Known for its distinct cel-shaded graphics and irreverent humor, players take on the role of Vault Hunters to stop the villainous Handsome Jack. The game emphasizes loot, with countless procedurally generated weapons, and supports cooperative multiplayer for up to four players. Its narrative is filled with witty dialogue and memorable characters, supported by numerous side quests and DLCs, cementing its status as a beloved and influential title.
Within Borderlands 2, a series of optional side quests, known as "Medical Mystery" in English or "Таинственные болезни" in Russian, involve Doctor Zed and enigmatic E-tech weaponry. The first quest, "Medical Mystery," begins after completing "Do No Harm," with Zed tasking the player to investigate mysterious wounds that leave bullet holes but aren't caused by bullets.
This quest leads the Vault Hunter to Doc Mercy's hideout in the Shock Fossil Cavern. Doc Mercy, a slow-moving nomad with a shield and E-tech weapon, is the target. Players must defeat him and loot his body to uncover the secret of his armaments. Doc Mercy's E-tech weapon can be dangerous, especially for lower-level characters, but his slow speed allows for evasion. He also throws self-targeting healing grenades when low on health and wields a powerful nova shield, making close combat risky. Utilizing grenades to strip his shield before engaging can be effective. If his body becomes unlootable, exiting and re-entering the area usually resolves the issue. Upon completion, the player learns they've encountered E-tech, and it was "pretty messy."
Immediately following, the quest "Medical Mystery: X-Com-municate" becomes available. It starts by acquiring the E-tech pistol, BlASSter, from Doc Mercy’s body. The objective is to test this new weapon by killing 25 bandits exclusively with it. While enemies can be weakened by other means, the final blow must be from the BlASSter for the kill to count. Various bandit types, nomads, and even enhanced versions contribute to the count. This mission can be efficiently combined with others that feature numerous bandit targets, such as "Assassinate the Assassins." The BlASSter is unique to this mission, sometimes appearing as a non-elemental E-tech weapon—uncommon for its type—and often lacks accessories or sights. Interestingly, some explosive or area-of-effect damage from other weapons can occasionally count towards the progression. Maya players might need to reallocate skill points to avoid accidentally killing enemies with elemental skills like Cloud Kill, which can hinder progress. After eliminating 25 bandits, the mission concludes, confirming E-tech weapons, despite their advanced appearance, are indeed excellent for killing. The quest’s name, "X-Com-municate," is a clear nod to the X-COM game series. It's also worth noting that Doc Mercy can be re-farmed without completing this follow-up mission.
