Borderlands 2
Description
Borderlands 2 is a first-person shooter with role-playing elements, set on the wild and dangerous planet Pandora. Known for its distinctive cel-shaded art style, humorous tone, and vast array of procedurally generated weapons, the game follows a group of new Vault Hunters trying to stop the villainous Handsome Jack. The game offers both single-player and cooperative multiplayer experiences, focusing heavily on loot acquisition and character progression.
The Arid Nexus - Badlands in Borderlands 2 is a key area located in the Blight Region, holding significant nostalgic value for players of the original game as it is the transformed version of the first game's starting location. Hyperion's presence is immediately evident, with massive Eridium pipelines and an overpass dominating the landscape. While recognizable landmarks like the bus stop, Fyrestone, and T.K. Baha's house remain, they are drastically altered. Fyrestone is now a slag-covered junkyard, deliberately preserved by Handsome Jack to mock the original Vault Hunters. Dr. Zed's old clinic is initially blocked by an electric fence, requiring players to find a breaker box to access a medical vendor and an ECHO recorder inside. Marcus's gun shop is defunct, though an ammo machine and a weapon chest on the roof are still accessible. Climbing onto the Fyrestone Motel roof near the bus stop reveals another chest and triggers the "Feels Like The First Time" achievement.
T.K. Baha's house, near the Boneyard transition, appears empty until the "Uncle Teddy" mission reveals a hidden basement with a vendor and loot. The Hyperion Info Stockade, a new structure, is accessed via an elevator to the elevated highway where the large loader boss Saturn often spawns. The area is populated by a mix of Hyperion robots and engineers, along with familiar Pandoran wildlife like Skags. Notable enemies include Saturn and Bone Head 2.0, who have a chance to drop legendary weapons. A peculiar level 3 Skag consistently spawns near the motel. Missions here include the main story quest "Data Mining" and side quests like "Uncle Teddy" and "Get to Know Jack," which involves collecting ECHO recorders documenting Jack's descent. Area challenges include finding ECHO logs and defeating Bone Head 2.0, but notably, there's no "Cult of the Vault" symbol in this base game location. Many original paths, like the entrance to Skag Gully, are now sealed off.
