The environment offers tactical advantages; a ladder allows players to ascend to a higher platform, while a large pipe near the main road provides cover from Slappy's arcing projectiles, allowing players to safely chip away at its health. Upon defeating Old Slappy, the player must retrieve Hammerlock's hand. Returning it to Sir Hammerlock completes the mission, rewarding the player with experience points and the unique Octo shotgun. The origin of the thresher's unusual name remains a mystery. This mission is accessible after completing "Mighty Morphin'," and reaching the location is convenient via the nearby "Highlands - Extraction Plant" fast travel station, which leads directly to the mission area in Outwash.
