How to Kill Captain Traunt | Borderlands 3 | As FL4K, Walkthrough, No Commentary
Borderlands 3
Description
Borderlands 3 is a first-person shooter with role-playing elements, known for its distinct cel-shaded graphics, humor, and focus on collecting vast amounts of randomized loot. Players choose from one of four Vault Hunters and embark on a journey across multiple planets to stop the villainous Calypso Twins. A significant obstacle early in this adventure is Captain Traunt, a heavily armed and shielded Maliwan boss encountered on the planet Athenas.
To defeat Captain Traunt, players should ideally be around level 15. Traunt has a large shield and health bar. His primary weak point is a glowing orb on his back. Attacking this orb is crucial for breaking his shield quickly and dealing significant damage. Traunt uses a variety of elemental attacks, including fire, ice, and acid, as well as large projectiles and area-of-effect hazards like a circling energy ball.
Two main strategies work well against him. An aggressive approach involves staying close, constantly moving to get behind him, and focusing fire on the back orb with powerful weapons like shotguns. This quickly depletes his shield. Once the shield is down, unleash your character's action skill for maximum damage. Alternatively, a more cautious strategy involves using the environment for cover, particularly the arched windows on the upper ledges. While these offer protection, players must be mindful of projectile explosions and the circling energy ball. Using the initial drop-down area or stairs for cover and hit-and-run tactics is also viable. Keeping a few weaker enemies alive can provide opportunities for a Second Wind if you are downed. Regardless of the strategy, consistently targeting his weak spot and managing the environmental hazards are key to victory.
