The "Holy Spirits" quest involves clearing out ratch gunk blockades, eliminating three troublesome Ratch Broodmothers, and destroying a ratch nest. An optional, but highly rewarding, part of the mission is to collect five intoxicated ratch livers, which can be placed in a barrel for an additional reward. Completing the mission involves repairing and ringing a bell to open a path and finally reporting back to Brother Mendel. The primary reward includes XP and in-game currency, but fulfilling the optional objective grants extra cash, access to a Red Chest, and the unique shield, Mendel's Multivitamin. This shield is particularly noteworthy for its substantial health boost and regeneration, making it a valuable asset for certain character builds and a tangible benefit derived from the mission's quirky premise.
