Old Lumiere (Short 4), Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

In *Clair Obscur: Expedition 33*, a Belle Époque-inspired turn-based RPG, players lead Expedition 33 to stop the Paintress, a mysterious entity that erases people annually. Old Lumière is a central, ruinous location within this world. Once part of the city of Lumière before the Fracture, Old Lumière now stands as a sprawling, Nevron-infested ruin on the mainland. It's a place steeped in past failures, where previous expeditions, including Expedition 58 and 42, met their demise, often at the hands of the formidable Renoir. Upon arrival, players navigate its fractured streets, often separated into two groups. One path leads through Right Street, encountering new enemy types and uncovering clues from past expeditions. The other traverses Left Street, revealing hidden journals and challenging encounters. Both routes eventually converge, leading to a climactic confrontation with Renoir in the Manor Gardens. Even after this battle, Old Lumière holds further secrets, including hidden journals, powerful weapons, and an optional boss, the Chromatic Danseuse, within its Train Station Ruins, underscoring its lasting significance and dangers.
